We present watches with dials hand-painted by the artist using the miniature lacquer technique. Each watch is a new creation, a new miniature. Each dial is unique. Precisely because it is handmade, not stamped by machine. The artist can, at the customer's request, make several paintings of the same motif, but each one will be slightly different. The process of painting a dial is laborious and not quick. Several layers of paint and lacquer are applied to the dial. Each layer is followed by a drying and polishing process. Each dial requires more than 50 hours of work, and the whole process of creating a watch takes about a month.
The artist does not use a microscope, only his eyes. He works mainly in daylight with various brushes. If you look closely at the dial, you can see the strokes. Just like in a big painting, if you get really close. To create the dial, the brand's artists use the technique of miniature lacquer painting. A lacquer is applied to the base, a brass plate. If the design is in relief, silver or gold foil is then applied. This adds volume to the surface and enhances the realism of the image. Then the painting process begins: the master paints the image by hand with a fine brush. It takes at least three layers of oil paint and lacquer, each of which is dried and polished. The alternating layers of paint and lacquer create a sense of volume and dynamism.
The details are gradually worked out. Baking the miniature in a special oven gives the painting the necessary shine and finish. When the painting is finished, two more layers of lacquer are applied to the dial. These protect the painting from sunlight.
