We have learnt the hard way that it is dangerous to look at a solar eclipse without proper eye protection. But there is such a desire to study the details of this rare and spectacular phenomenon! We would like to draw your attention to the dial of the Unique Watch series: a handmade lacquer miniature depicting the total solar eclipse in detail.
This phenomenon, which is impressive to any observer, occurs when the Moon is in front of the Sun on its path, completely blocking it out and preventing sunlight from reaching the Earth. The glow that surrounds the Moon during a total solar eclipse is called the corona. It is the outer part of the Sun's atmosphere, the most rarefied and hot, and is not normally visible due to its relatively low brightness. A fine brush is used to reproduce the complex and changing structure of the solar corona. A thin layer of gold foil is used as a base to enhance the luminous effect.
The process of gradually drawing the details is a lengthy one: the artist spends up to 50 hours working on each scene. The miniature is then fired in a special oven, which gives the drawing the necessary shine and perfection.
The watch is a one-of-a-kind piece.
The watch is equipped with a TMI automatic movement. In addition to the hours, minutes and seconds, it also displays the date and day of the week. You'll find the date and day indicator at 3 o'clock, highlighted by an applied frame. The movement can be observed by turning the watch upside down: the caseback is transparent. The hour and minute hands are coated with a luminous material that glows in the dark.The mineral crystal is convex on both sides, using technology typical of the 1960s and 70s.The watch is set on a genuine leather strap with stitching that prolongs its life. The steel buckle clasp is decorated with the brand logo.
